The article is devoted to tracking career in the Teutonic Order in the 13th to early 16th centuries. The author problematizes the institutional approach to describing the hierarchical ladder of officials in medieval commune and raises the question of the identification of sustainable promotion that may define the hierarchical ladder in the Order. The study is based on network analysis. A directed weighted graph adjacency matrix describing promotions from one position to another is designed using secondary sources – prosopography charts, and then a directed graph is visualized by Gephi. The paper proposes sustainable promotions paths and the author suggests an interpretation for the promotion reasons.
